Predicting interview questions from the job description
Every job posting telegraphs what you'll be asked. Here's how to read it like an interviewer.
Job descriptions are written by the same people who run the interview loop. The phrasing they choose is usually a direct preview of the questions they'll ask.
Three patterns to look for
Responsibilities → behavioural questions
'Lead cross-functional projects' becomes 'Tell me about a time you led a cross-functional project.' Prepare one strong STAR story per top responsibility.
Required skills → technical drilling
Anything listed as 'required' will be tested. Anything listed as 'nice to have' may come up as a differentiator question between final candidates.
Culture lines → values questions
Phrases like 'fast-paced' or 'ownership mindset' signal the soft-skill questions you'll get from the hiring manager round.
